hi guys im after some help with wiring

i have a 6 led moonlight kit for my betta (fightingfish) tanks but the adaptor is rooted cause its making a buzzing noise

i got it from america the adaptor is input:117v 60hz 3w ac
output: 3v dc 100ma

can i change that one to a aussie adaptor which is says transforms 240V AC into 3V DC, maximum 500mA output???

to change it all i have to do is cut the old one off an soilder the new one on

if the one i mentioned isnt good can you please give me a link to one on ebay

the ampage might be a bit high on the new on
if you can set it to run 100ma it will be right
if not it will work fine but it might heat up a bit so you cant run it 24/7
see how you go

if your worried dont risk it electricity hurts i now i used to tv's and vcrs and stuff

hey coolmodee the lowest i could find is a 300ma one, how would that go?
the leds are on about 6 hours a day

and is everything else ok? cause the american one is 117v input
and we use 240v input

Divy, use either one. Providing the voltage is correct, that is ALL that matters.

The current rating on the transformer is just a guide as to its maximum amperage output. The LED's will only draw as much current as they require.

This is not heresay or a guess, its fact.

thank you andy for the help i appreciate it
