Hey mate
I have raced a few times and the best peace of advice I can give is.. number 1... tyres.... race tyres....
number 2... gearing..... your bike is geared WAY to high.... you will want 41 or higher rear and 15 or below front.
I run 41 rear and 14 front, most run 13 front and 41 rear.... having said that it depends where u race.. but.... u make up time with fast cornering/exit corners rather than top end speed.
A lightly modded 125cc is just as fast as a standard 125cc with same gearing, tyres.. biggest factor is rider. But a heavily moded bike (which urs is starting to sound like) will p33n everyone with a decent rider.

gearing is all up to the way u ride and what track you are riding
such as most from archerfield run 14/41,39,37
but masterspoon runs a 17 front

if the track u race on is good for 14front41rear and spoon is using 17front and beating u guys.... ya'll must sux majorly haha
3 up on the front is massive!

to correct ducar here I am actually running a 16 front 41 rear
when we get onto lakeside I will probably be stepping up to a 17 front then as the track is much larger and I'm topping the bike at Archerfield
Mind you I think there must be something with the gearing on the YX140 motors as Pete just put one in his bike and with the same gearing he was running on his 125 and he was running outta gears real quick from memory.

hey guys im looking at getting into the motard scene wat mods would i have to do to my bike to make it sutable for motard racing

it depends how strict the track u want to use is
i suggest going there for a look first and ask around
