Is roll starting bad if done correctly?

Well my 140 lifan was kicking back alot. But once when i was kickstarting it the kickstart must of stripped its thread because the kickstart just fell off and i cant put it back on again. So i roll start the bike everytime now (until i fix it) but ive been putting it in 2nd or 3rd and sprinting with the bike. so is it actually bad for the bike if i use 3rd or 2nd?

Nah it's not bad for the bike at all. Completely safe to roll start.

I would be using 2nd though as will start easier than 3rd.
