I have had my 70cc pit bike which is kick start in my garage for a year now, it had about half a tank of petrol in it when i left it. I have only used it once or twice and it was working fine when it left it in there. I put some petrol in it and tried starting it and it just didnt start. I must of tried kicking it around 30times and nothing. Im not sure whats happened but surely it cant be something major becuase it worked fine when i put it in my garage. Can someone help me out? im not very good with motorbikes but if anyone has any suggestions lol il try them!

This applies to nearly every case of 'my bike isn't starting'.

1. Check/Clean Air Filter

2. Check/Change Oil.

3. Check Spark plug for Spark, replace if needed.

4. Check Fuel lines and fuel filter. Replace blocked lines.

5. Drain Carb and tank, fill up with fresh high octane.

6. Check valve clearance, adjust if needed.

7. Test compression, take to mech if it hasn't got enough.

8. Buy a motovert.

never let an engine sit around with fuel in it for more than a few months...fuel goes off, and fuel evaporates leaving gunk behind....

ie, drain the carb before storage, by either undoing the drain screw o letting it idle til it runs outta fuel

so yeah. check spark, check the carb isnt blocked, and um....

Thanks for the help guys i have got it running again, finally. I drained the fuel and removed the spark and put it back in again then added some fresh fuel. Now it works perfectly fine, thanks again.
