Hi Guys. got hold of a second hand pitbike that wouldnt start. It has a Lifan 125 1P52FMI. We fixed some wiring probs and had a play with the carby and got it to run but it is breathing really heavily through the breather. Its runs rough and and wont rev etc. So pulled off head and barrel, piston is oval shaped by measurement and bore is a little polished, rings dont fit piston very well.
Has anyone had similar probs with engines breathing?
Is it worth fixing (piston, rings, hone etc ) or just buying a new engine? Piston size is 52.3mm roughly, 14mm gudgeon.
Dont know much about these engines performance wise. Have a Ducar 125, are they similar in performance.
