So ive got the way you lock wire bolts down, but how do you lock things like a master cylinder? The master ive got has counter sunk screws, is just wrapping lock wire around the cap and body acceptable? Or do i have to drill through the cap and body on a 45?

I'm pretty sure that you don't have to lock wire the master cylinder cap. As with most it is impossible to lockwire the bolts correctly, plus its not under pressure and not critical in the event of a failure.
send a pm to HIPPY or OZminimoto and they should be able to have the final word as they will be the ones in charge.

No need to lock wire your marster cylinder guys. Chris Jones and the boys from North Qld have done all the work with MA and Jonesy is happy to answer any questions you may have: 0417794793. As long as you have alloy footpegs and bar ends and im sure we will get you on the track without too much trouble guys.

Just remember that entrys for Phillip Island "CLOSE" in 14 Days!! And MA will not allow us to take late entries. So get those entries in before the 18th because you dont want ot miss this one!! Its taken us 2 years to put this one together and its going to be an Awesome weekend of racing!! You can find entry forms at minimoto.org.au: Home

Hi lads,

The following is a guide to what needs to completed in preparation for the titles. These requirements are all contained the MA Manual of Motorcycle Sport (http://www.ma.org.au/Content/MA/FormsRules/Generalcompetitionrules/Manual_of_motorcycl.htm) and the Supp Regs:

GCR 15.20.3.1 - Brake calliper mounting bolts (front and rear) must be tie wired
GCR 15.21.1.1 - Engine oil drain plug and oil filler cap (and water filler caps for Class B machines) must be tie wired. Very difficult to tie wire front brake master cylinder cover
GCR 15.21.1.4 - Fuel/Carby breather lines must drain into a minimum 100cc capacity catch can
GCR 15.21.1.7 - Crank case breathers must vent into a catch can of minimum capacity of 200cc
GCR 15.20.0.3 - Footpegs must be covered (slider's) in plastic, rubber or nylon. (Recommend brake lever have slider aswell)
GCR 15.19 - Clothing- Approved helmet, 1 or 2 piece leathers or leather jackets and kevlar jeans (wouldnt recommend motocross pants), boots with ankle protection, leather gloves, eye protection (goggles or visor), commercially manufactured back protector

Other general rules:
Side stand must be removed
Maximum 12" wheels/tyres (as per Supp regs)
No knobby tyres (as per Supp Regs)
Front and rear brakes must be opreational
Throttle must be self closing
Bar ends must be alloy or plastic or barkbuster fitted (no open bar ends)
Rider numbers must be visible on both sides and front

If you read Road Race section (Section 15) of the 2011 Manual of Motorcycle Sport (link above) and the Supp Regs as all the requirements are setout in both these documents.

If you have any other queries, feel free to contact me on 0417 794793.

Cheers, Chris Jones
