i bought a pitster pro lxr. on the cylinder it says 160. can someone please explain the difference in motors such as the 155z, 150 yx, 160 yx, as i do not know the differences. i believe its a 2009 model. thanks!

does it have yx stamped on the head, what is the engine code under the front sprocket on the bottom of the engine

Hey mate, below is a pic of each. I don't know a whole about the YX's apart from the fact that they use a different cam and sprocket cover setup to the GPX's see here:

GPX covers (note longer dipstick is for 155z, 160ho uses stubby one)

I do know more about the GPX 160ho vs 155z though. The 155z was the original model and the 160ho simply has a few upgrades / changes. Main difference is the 160ho has an ugraded casing, as the pictures display. The 160ho has an internal oil filter which is accessible by the small cover, also the dipstick is in a different location.

what does your engine look like, Should be simple enough to match it up. got a pic? or can you identify it with one the above I've posted?

That 150yx with that irk on it makes me sad.

the gpx 155z looks exactly like it and the gpx covers look exactly like the covers... ik its not the 160 ho. is a 155z the same as a 155 zs?

The GEN 2 155z with seperate clutch cover and oil filter.

Key Features:
-Close-ratio transmission
-6 Plate clutch with Daytona clutch basket
-Removable oil filter
-New camshaft design
-Daytona style outer rotor

Sweet as, would definitely be a 155z then for the year. Here's a few more pics of one. Never heard of a 155zs though, probably just a typo somewhere.

yeah 155z is 155zs, stands for zongshen i believe, the 160ho is a glorified 155z they are both 155.7cm3 displacement

notice on carlts bike it has the 1 piece side cover, this distinguishes the gen 1 from gen 2, i have recently ibstalled the gen 2 and you can see the difference on the side case and both are 155z, either way G1 or G2 they are the same internals

That's identical to what we call the 160ho ey, varies site to site I suppose.
Yeah carlts, see the pic i posted, we got them from china and they are badged 155z and not 160, good ole china

I've never had to fit one myself, but everything indicates it will fit

I feel like a post ***** haha, the 155z/160ho have a close ratio gearbox and a daytona style outer rotor kit, the gen 2 now runs a daytona style 6 plate clutch where as the gen 1 runs a 5 plate, i have ridden the yx160 also and give me a 155z/160 ho anyday over the bigger displacement yx160.
