You might have just seen it on the news but Robbie Maddison is sacking up and going 320 ramp to ramp for the record in Vegas tommorow night in honour of EVEL KNIEVEL :D ...WHO ONCE SAID

"It is better to take a chance in life to win a victory or suffer defeat even though scarred by failure... than to live in the shadow of life as some do never knowing a victory or defeat because they have not the guts to try either! "

Which I think are fitting words in this instance

So yeah GOOO MADDO YOU'RE ALL OVER IT LIKE A FAT CHICK ON A CUPCAKE

so that's not all either

Robbie Maddison to go for the incredible 300 foot barrier

Evel Knievel said it could never be done, but a brash young Aussie from Kiama will bring people around the world to their feet on Tuesday January 1 at 7pm (Midnight at the Rio Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas) when he attempts to jump over 300 feet on a motorbike.
The jump will be telecast on ESPN in Australia from 7:30pm New Year’s day and beamed live by ESPN in the USA. It is anticipated Maddison will go as far as 320 feet having already jumped 310 feet in training this week. Click here to view the jump Idiot Boyz

This event is the perfect warm up for Maddison, who on Saturday 29 March will suit up for the biggest night of his life when Melbourne plays host to the greatest event in extreme sports history – the Crusty Demons Night of World Records.

Maddison will attempt to break his own world record when he goes head-to-head with American legends Seth Enslow and Ryan Capes in a jump-off for the longest distance ever jumped on a motorbike.

“There are a lot of people who have wanted to see me, Ryan Capes and Seth Enslow go head-to-head to see who can go the greatest distance – now their dreams have been answered. One man will walk away with the title, and I am going to make sure that one man is me. The Americans will have to pack their bags and head home without victory.

Having recently attended the funeral of his idol Evel Knievel, Maddison admitted he wished the world’s most famous daredevil was around to see him make history.

“Evel Knievel inspired me to get involved in distance jumps,” Maddison continued. “It’s just such a shame he’s not here to see the jump as he has always said it couldn’t be done.

At least ten Guinness World Record attempts will take place at the Crusty Demons Night of World Records, with a turnout of more than 30,000 people expected to witness history. New boundaries will be created on four wheelers, mini-bikes, road bikes and snow mobiles.

To complement the record breaking component of the event, a full Crusty Demons freestyle motocross show will be presented by Rockstar Energy Drink and includes US freestyle stars world number one Nate Adams, 2007 X Games gold medallist Adam Jones, Mike Mason, along with Aussies Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams, Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin and Cam Sinclair.

350 in practice .....400 in melbourne

LAS VEGAS -- Robbie Maddison broke the world motorcycle jumping record Monday night, soaring 322 feet, 7½ inches at the Rio All-Suite Casino and Hotel.

Facing a slight headwind, the freestyle star from Australia made a second jump, but went only 320 feet on that attempt.

"I'm just starting to realize what I did," Maddison said. "Conditions weren't in my favor with the wind."

Maddison broke the Guinness World Records-certified mark of 277-6 set by Trigger Gumm in 2005 in Australia, and the non-certified mark of 310-4 set by Ryan Capes in Kent, Wash., also in 2005.

During practice Sunday night, Maddison jumped 350 feet. It was unclear if that jump would be certified as the record.

"We had terrific conditions," Maddison said of the practice jump.

On Monday night, Maddison landed in perfect control on both attempts, sailing over a drawn-in football field and coming down on a large dirt landing area.

He was asked how far he thinks he can jump.

"Four hundred feet," Maddison said. "I know I'm definitely going to do it."

So do I ....as for the jump off in Melbs..... Seth is a legend but Robbie is a better rider, he cleared 38m when he was 8:eek: and has better skillz all day in my opinion....Capes will go 310 320 and then he will have nothin :D

ONE THING IS FOR SURE neither Seth or Capes was lookin a 400 till yesterday:D
