Just wandering wether removing the spacer in between the manifold and carby will give any HP gain???

No maybe .000000001 at the most. The spacer is there for a reason, it is to stop the heat transferring to your carby to keep the air that is going through a bit cooler. Prob be worse if anything

Or give a better seal between carbi and motor. More accurate fuel air ratio as per the set up of the carbi. metal to metal gives a shite seal. etc blah blah

our mechanic here in Adel takes it out when he tunes the bikes, he says it add's a bit of throttle response. This mechanic hardly EVER lets any secrets out about tuning a mini, he's Adel's best for pitbikes.

its no secret ,what removing the pastic shit does do is creates a better flow for atomised fuel in the intake port ,the plastic crap interupts the flow of things thus making the bike run shitter
the plastic in no way helps cool it ..........

IMO-If the plastic spacer is matched it will not disrupt flow at all. It blocks heat transferring from the head to the carburetter. Also not a bad idea to run a heatshield under the bowl because of the design of running a carb directly over such a hot little motor which is usually getting the piss revved out of it. Simple fact that cooler air and fuel carries more oxygen. Your intake length has a dynamic effect on engine performance similar to the exhaust. Pressure waves travel to the end of your intake and rebound back again. When this wave reaches the valve at the right time it greatly increases performance. Shorter inlet moves this timing up the rev range (more top end and throttle response) and longer, down the rev range (more bottom end and more hp).

There is an ideal intake length for any given motor depending on the rest of your tuning. There are formula's for calculating a ballpark starting point and these motors run way short of these figures. Only way for most to find it is experiment. I know of dyno runs with and without different spacers added to intake, with a hp increase shown with longer intake on these motors. I personally run extra spacers for what its worth.

EDIT oh i forgot to add that cooler intake charge greatly helps with cooling the motor as well. Once they get too hot, it starts a cycle and they just get hotter and start running like shit suffering bad powerloss.

no fear, is the adel dude ur referrin to a mechanic workin in a shop or a back yarder and does he let u hit him up for info n parts or does he only do mechanical work for ya

.....nice one Mack, someone had to tell them...... hmmmmm a fuel bowl and a manifold sitting 5mm above a 250 degree C head.... will the fuel get boiling hot???? of course the spacers good....... in theory is better without it for better top end, but realistically its a must have... just remember to port match....... not that it'll make much diff on a stocker........

jacklives here is a legend lol.... go lowndsey
soz, kinda sidelined that one
