Hi guys,

A few mates and i are interested in buying a bike each.
We still havent decided on which is the best to buy, as there are so many to choose from. Will keep reading posts to determine the right one for us.

Just wondering whether anyone can recommend any local shops that are selling bikes at competitive prices?

I've been looking at ebay, and have also visited sites found through posts on this site,
but not really sure whats a bargain and what is not.

From looking at previous posts, apperas that ppl were buying them cheaper back in '07. I assume that the quality and therefore the prices have increased since then.
From the information i have so far, seems that I need to spend at least $1200 - $1300 minimum to get something half decent.

Any help appreciated.

motorbike city in ferntree gully or laverton sell pitpro's, 140 xr is the best bike you can get with $1300 from there, head down there and have a look they have heaps of bikes

Decided to go either the DMX or the DHZ Outlaw 140.
Was leaning toward the DHZ outlaw 140, but have seen conflicting info.

Here is a link to an ebay sale posted by dhz.com.au
NEW 2009 DHZ OUTLAW 140CC BIG BORE RACING THUMPSTAR - eBay Other Trail Bikes, Trail Bikes, Motorcycles, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 18-Apr-09 20:17:48 AEST)

This is a link to the same bike on DHZ's website.
OUTLAW 140CC

Both advertise the same bike, at the same price, but have different specifications.
Spoke to a guy at BuzzBikes last week, and he said that the bike could take approximately 100kg's of weight, which was one of the main reasons I decided on the DHZ.

Unfortunately one of these adds states maximum weight 120kg, seat height 780mm,
whilst the other add for the same bike states max weight 80kg, seat height 730mm.
Appears that they could be different bikes, but not sure.

I've since asked the guy at BuzzBikes about the discrepancy in specifications,
but he was unable to offer me an answer.

I've also emailed the sales team at DHZ and they haven't provided me with any answers either.

Now I'm turned off, as I don't know who to believe.
Seems like I'm right back where I started... trying to find someone being honest about what they are selling.

ciniworx 59405081 look at the 140 expert i think $1650 or the 140pro alloy at a mega special price of $2400

CINIWORX HOMEPAGE

ya cant go wrong

here's the pro's
fast ace front dnm rear shock not no name junk
pro tapers i think not tin can handle bars
tested and proven frame thats a true twin spar cradle frame have seen the dhz/pitpro twim spar snap a few times

with motovert the type r 125 is a bit over 2 k but only 125 but there a good bike

pitster pro only do a mid size bike and your looking at over 2400

anything else is not worth it's while

i'm a ciniworx man so i'm gunna say this outside of the mso which i'm not sure if they have in stock the ciniworx expert is the best bang for your buck atm

My friends are all close to 100kg's and tall fellas and they have all ridden....Puzey and Puzey have never broke down ever!!!
If weight is your issue make sure you focus on a bike with good forks and a good back shock because thats where all ur weight is gonna be leaning too, also make sure you pick a good tested frame....

motorbike city at laverton! good place, good location, good people!
I'm going there Sat Morn to have a good hard look at the Pitpro 125RR.

I need convincing before i lay down cash.

I know sweet FA about bikes but its high time i do something about that.

Life is too short too miss out on something as good as this.

Adam.

Is weight of the rider a big factor to consider when buying ?

Adam.

Suspension is the most crucial part of a bike coz if your shocks bottom out too much it will put stress on your frame the handling also makes a big diff, you dont wanna be riding on a pogo stick that bottoms out all the time.
Go and talk to Ryan at motorbike city and get him to throw in a better rear shock in with the deal ;)
