Need a little tech help with throttle cable?

What the title says, got a 1/4 need to cut the outside off the cable so I got more play is there a easy way to remove the metal twisted covering?

As I accidently ruined my cable when I slipped and freyed it. :(


If there is already a thread on this could you point me in the right direction, thanks again guys/girls.
 
I had this problem once bought a wrong
cable I got the grinder onto it just take your time and get it right was my way:)
it wasn't a fun quick job lol
 
Cut the black casing down with a stanley knife and then you'll see where youneed to grind after grinding the piece I got 2 sets of plyers and untangled the windy metal crap lol
 
Will give it a try when my new cable arives, thanks jake.

I will probly use the dremel to cut it then just with untangle pliers .
 
you can cut the metal twisting with side cutters
 
yeah was all good, I only had crap side cutters that wernt hardend and snapped the end of them off :(

The dremal worked awesome just had to be carefull
