oils

is there any problem with running standard car engine oil in a bike? or should i use motor bike engine oil .
and whats the difference?

i used synthetic car oil in the first bike and the gearbox siezed so i wouldnt recommend it the box still work fine for some reason after it cooled down but its not worth the risk as i put it down to the oil or was i just looking for an excuse to buy another bike lol

You used synthetic oil so that was the problem. These motors like mineral oil.

thanks bulldog. i guessed right cos i picked up some castrol active 4t from supercheap yesterday.

i use castrol premium 20w 50 becuase its more then just oil, its liquid engineering
