posting videos

Hey guys,
Im trying to post up some videos on you tube but they are huge files like 822mb can any1 help me out on how to scale em down or something. help will be much appreciated.

Ok a few questions, they might help me figure this out.

1) What program did you make the video in, or is it straight off a camera?

2) What sort of file is it (i.e .avi, .mpg., .mov)?

use Windows Movie Maker is the easiest option because it is most probably already installed on your computer. After you have edited the clip save it as wmv or something.
