Road Registering brand new imported bike

Hey guys,

I live in Victoria and am thinking about getting a bike to ride to work on.
Is it legal to import a road/naked bike from the US and register it in Victoria and ride it on the road?
What's the process/ protocol?

it would be a major pain in the butt with no ADR compliance

Yeah I got a mate importing a Harley and it's costing thousands to get ADR'd here.

If you factor that in though may still work out a lot cheaper.
