i recieved my lifan 120 'monster' 2day pulled it down ready 2 send head cylinder away 4 work and noticed the valves dont sit in their seats looking up the intake and exhaust theres a good 1mm of daylight around each valve is this normal..?would they seat them selves in time..?or is this typical of chinese mass produced wares.

hrmm, that sounds a bit odd for a lifan motor, normally they are top notch engines. you should have broken ya engine in b4 u send it away, then everything with in the engine can normalize it's self, then pull it apart and get work done.

yeah perhaps. the spark plug and exhaust outlet had a bit of black indicating it had been started only 4 a short time at the factory witch should of sorted (seated)both valves out

Most Major manufacturers Zongshen,Lifan Louncin...
Start there motors befor they leave the factory...

Although not really an indicator of how the engine is running..EG as long as it starts its goo enough for them :)

Either cam position was holding valves open at partial lift, or something is wrong. Motors shouldn't have incorrect tolerances.

found the problem the nut was cranked down on both spring retainers. backed them off and now sit well
