Hey guys, new to this forum and all and just got my first pit bike. I have a 125 ssr. Front 14" and rear 12"... Anybody out there running after market exhaust on one of these? Is it worth it, I was looking into fmf factory 4.1... Also I want to upgrade the rear shock, any cheap ones out there with good reviews.. I still haven't come across one, thanks!

Hey mate

Got pics and specs of the bike? Knowing these will make it easy for us to give you some advice on mods :)

the shock (as well as all other parts) cheap and good dont really go together.. i would rather spend more money now on a good shock then buy multiple cheap shocks..

top notch suspension is worth every cent spent, over priced exhausts will only make you wonder... not to mention most of the cost is brand name related..
dont get me wrong, they are a good exhaust but for a stockish china 125 engine i wouldnt bother...

any of the fastace / DMN shocks will be good enough for that.. measure the length then order from Terry @ Firepowerminis or a local store..

if the forks feel a little soft or hard they can be tweaked with an oil replacement..

28 or 30mm exhaust is heaps for the 125 engine, 28 being better as it keeps response and low down torque..

Thanks! Where can I get a hold of some fork oil? Autozone maybe? And what weight?

a lot of people use automatic transmission fluid.

or use 5 weight, but really depends how they are performing..

I usually use Motul fork oil and 99% of the time I put 7.5w in over 5w as it seems to soften the harshness of most china forks. This would ofcourse depends on how stiff your springs are.
