takegawa 124+R clutch gearbox prob

roaring around on some freashly cut grass today, and bugger, big revs, and no drive. Thought it may have been chain off, etc, but no. Kick starter will not engage. Took it home still in shock, of the first time I have ever pushed my Honda anywhere. Cluch cover off, and clutch, found selector drum pins, associated spring, and dogging mech ok. Selecting 1,2,3 and with drive to the gear box primary shaft, and from the kick start, via back wheel. clutch looks like the day it went in.
Anyone any ideas ? Really dont want to pull the whole engine down chasing a clutch prob.
