depends on what motor.. yes the four nuts on the top have to come off and also there is usually a little bolt that sits on the left side of the head also securing the head to the cylinder..
and then you must undo the cam gear (not hard but usually there pretty tight) so you take the cam cover off and there will probably be 3 10mm bolts the best way to undo them is using a "jolt" style so by putting a ratchet or breaker bar on them and pretty much hit the end of the ratchet like you would taking off your engines sprocket and by then your head should move (with a little bit of force because the gasket will try to hold it in place)
