Hey all

Rode the crf50 today for an hour (first good ride) happy with the running but two things I'd like to address

1) idles been turned up a little but in isn't stable, idles low then crack the throttle and it stays up abit higher and slower drops back down (pilot is #32)

2) sparkplug is black with soot (not oil) main jet #90

Carbie is a keihin 20mm. Think I should dropped main jet back to a #87 to fix problem number 2?

Thanks guys

Doyle

Did you get this sorted mate.
If you drop it back to 87 it Should fix both problems. The idle staying high and then dropping back down suggests to rich.

I have the TB 88cc RH as well and I have similar conditions to yours

My setting are:

#90 Mainjet
#35 Pilot (Stock)
Needle clip position is second from the bottom
Air screw is 1.5 turns out
Running a Dr.D exhaust

I also have a low end bog that will stall the engine if I crack the throttle and hold it on, kind of like the engine is staving of fuel. I mainly notice the problem when the bike is in neutral, there is only a slight hessitation present when riding. If I use a bit of choke the bog goes away so I believe the pilot is a bit lean. I have check the plug a few times and the end has always been a sooty black.

I am going to order a set of pilot jets and see how it goes with a #38
