Valve grind

Anyone know how much i shud be paying for a valve grind?

Went down to a machinest today and without seeing the head told me $100ish, then started to bable about needing new valves and the usual you need this you need this.

Sounds a bit expensive for a 1/2 hour job.

go to a few places and get a price guide, see what other people say, rather than one guy...

Get some valve grinding paste and one of those sticks with the sucker on the end and do it yourself by hand it's pretty straight forward and easy.

have grinding paste, but am after a good 3 angle grind.

Im off now to take the head to him, if its over $50 ill go look around.

he recons $80-$100!

Good news is i dont have to machine the head, but may need some different dowels.

Ahh I see, I'd have to agree and say have a look around, you will probably find cheaper out there.

Yea, going to one of my old mans mates... should get it for around $50, or atleast get sent somewhere that might be a bit cheaper.
