1/2 1/4 throttle help

hey guyz i have another probaly stupid question but if i have a throttle that i think is 1/2 turn if i want a 1/4 turn throttle whats the difference and will i need a new cable because its a shorter turned throttle thx guyz

as for cable it depends for the price it wouldnt hurt to get the cable with the throttle..
