A little while back, my Pitboss 110s gearbox started to play up. Its skipping gears and not shifting smoothly. Im wondering if my cluch is the problem or the gear selector slave is bent.

If so what is the best solution?

Any comments would be appriciated. Cheers

take the clutch cover off and see whats goin on. shift star might be loose.

yeah id be looking at the gear shaft first.. its probably the most common issue with gears..

failing that its probably a gear drum issue or weak detent spring

Your 110 isn't a FYM.. Just thought I would point that out.. :)

Oh really, I was told that it was a FYM on my build thread.

I know its a Bottom mounted electric start 107cc, Does anyone know what Brand it is?

Heres the link, Pitboss

I got the exact same bike with the exact same motor and mine has 'Panther' written on it..

Haha yeah thats exactly the same as my bike.

What carb are you running?

Just the stock carby.. I have only done cosmetic mods to the bike..

Ok, it still looks pretty sick, does yours shift properly?

Yeah mine is sweet as.. Sometimes when I am going from 3rd to 2nd it slips into neutral, but other than that it's awesome

logo's on china engines dont mean jack ..

Yeah especially logo's that are stickers. Haha

I really want to find out what brand my motor is. :p

Ive looked at photos of FYMs and mine looks exactly the same as all of the photos.

Mine only skips or goes into neutral when im in the process of changing gears, especially from 1st to 2nd

like rider said above, the shift star is usually at fault for that issue.
but check the shaft first

if the shift shaft is hard to pull out then its more than likely bent but also check it with a ruler..

the shift star can come loose which makes everything out of alignment..
also there is an old trick where you grind down the hollows in the shift star for the detent spring to lock it in gear more..
this is for a start in any gear engine but the shift star should look the same

Very helpful, thanks for that link. :)

Ill probably give this a try if the gear shifter rod isnt bent. Cheers

EDIT: Just checked the gear rod then and it seems pretty straight and isnt that hard to move in and out.

The shift star also has also got rounded edges because its a rotary patterned gearbox. (4321N)
