I found out why the idle on the old carbi was hard to set lol I puled the carbi out ant and the choke flap screw was stripped and the choke flap was restricting air flow the whole time cant wait to see how it runs with the new carbi and that new #20 jet I also ordered a new complete front brake set

here are some pics of my bikes the one with carbi problems is the pink one and the yellow one is my son's its a 2010 the pink one is a 2007
I fitted a head light of my old crf450x to my son's bike
these pics are from yalwal we went there over the Australia day long weekend and rode up to the old gold mines the micro bats were cool to see.

wow, that looks like an awesome place to ride.
lots to look at/explore.

sounds good with the parts.
the new brake set should be pre-bled,
you might want to change the fluid, the china stuff isn't too good.
they are pretty easy to bleed, gravity fed.

and the carby,
you will only need to set the mixtures, and idle speed with the new carby.
sing out if you need help with it

cheers, craig

thanks mate:coolthumb:

I got my carbi slow jet yesterday but still waiting on parts from eBay hoping it will come some time today

good job mate, u'll notice a major difference with the #20 pilot, u may have to tune ur mixture screw accordingly, but its nothing too hard

Anybody want to come tune my bike I can't get to the mixture screw under the carbi while it's on the bike :boom: will pay cash for somone that knows what there doing I'm in the Wollongong area (Berkeley)
I fitted the new #20 pilot jet but when I put it under load it breaks up and won't hold full rev when in neutral

do you have any small screwdriver bits ?
that is what i use to adjust them with.

I do but my hands are to big to get in there with out burning my self:lol:

Nope can't get it to work I even put the std #15 jet back in and it still dose the same thing

do you have the spacer/insulator fitted between the carby and manifold, with the rubber o'ring on the spacer facing the manifold ?

if you take the carby off, and turn the mixture screw in until it stops, then turn it back out 1.5 full turns.
refit it an try it out

Yes I have it set on 1.5 turns and the spacer is in the right way I tried my sons carbi of his bike and it runs fine so there must be a problem with the new carbi I did notice the new one was a bigger size than my sons one as I tried to put the slide from my new carbi in my sons one and it was to big could this have something to do with it?

no I had it 3 turn out and 1.5 turns out both has the same affect its like it runs lean on top end??

the mixture screw is for the idle, and up to 1/4 throttle

the main jet, and needle clip settings are from 1/4 to full throttle

it is set on the 2nd clip I had it in the middle and there is no difference what setting do you think?

the middle notch is standard,
the top notch is lean, the bottom notch is rich

do you know what jetting is in it ?
