Thanks to all the kind people on this site my new bike is getting close to being ready for recreational rego and its maiden voyage out into the scrub.
I just need some advice on a few more things

(1) Is there a manual for these bikes/engines?
(2) Being at the cheapest end of the pit bike range is it going to fall apart if I start jumping it?
(3) What is the NGK plug for the YX 140 engine and should I swap one in?
(4) Is changing the fork oil going to get me any more milage/performance out of them?
(5) Where is the oil screen on these engines and what do you think about the whole rapid break in philosophy with these engines?

Thanks

1) No there isn't a manual for the chinesse bikes :( close you'll find is a CRF one. Look on my profile page and I've posted a few links to help people out:

2) Over large jumps yes. Over 5ft jumps I doubt it.

3) NGK spark plug is more reliable (longer life time) then the replica NGKs you get in the bike. Yes you should change it over:

4) Depending on what oil you put in, it could change the feel of the forks. Here's a few links:

5) Mine don't have one so I think yours wouldn't either. The engine only use 900ml of oil. 15w/40 is what I use for my bikes but other people use different stuff:
- Castrol Activ 4T Motorbike Oil - 15W-50, 1 Litre - Supercheap Auto
- Shell Advance 4T Motorbike Oil - 15W-40, 1 Litre - Supercheap Auto

As for setting up your bike have a look through these threads:

Good luck with it;)

no manual, you didn't mention what bike? just remember valve clearances are set at .003intake and .004 exhaust

(2) Being at the cheapest end of the pit bike range is it going to fall apart if I start jumping it?
what bike?

(3) What is the NGK plug for the YX 140 engine and should I swap one in?
C7HSA, yes for reliability get an ngk

(4) Is changing the fork oil going to get me any more milage/performance out of them?
if you do it right it will make the forks better, don't make the rookie mistake of putting heaps more oil in them, put the same amount of oil and then add 10ml more if they bottom out

(5) Where is the oil screen on these engines and what do you think about the whole rapid break in philosophy with these engines?
there is no oil screen/filter....... there's a little bit of mesh inside the engine that does absolutely nothing, just don't worry about it.......... and yes run it in hard, don't let it sit there idling for ages, load the engine hard but don't rev it's tit's off, and use lots of engine braking

his bike is in the thread subject title DVD...

the bike will only fall apart if you treat it like a $2 hooker...
look after it and it will look after you (to the best it can anyways)

everything else as posted above

Atomik Bigfoot with a yx140 motor, in the title mate :)

Cheers for the great links and info
