Im thinking about buying one but not sure if value foe money, as this will be my first bike.

There is no Alloy frame. All recyled car metal or bake bean tins.

I was aware of this, just wanted to know if anybody out here has one & what they think of it, Im just going to thrash around dirt tracks

lol, more info required brains.. What research have you done?
Is this a quick descision you are making or have you pondered the thought for a few weeks and are in the process of deciding!??

In my opinion it is worth checking out a variety of different bikes, from different manufactures, companys, distributors, etc. Find out what is worthy of spending your Hard earned $ on and give THEM youm your cash..

Each bike will fit you different and have different qualities. Some may have a great engine, but lack in frame or shocks, others may have great frames but a poor engine. Its going to come down to what you want, What your intended use of the bike will be, and whatyou can afford..

I understand where your coming from, simply not much thought at all has gone into this possible purchase, apart from my mate who has this bike new and never used it before simply wants to sell it and he has offered it to me for $400. I was going to buy it for my 11 year old son to thrash around our farm.

I just wanted to know if its worth purchasing or not

mate for an 11 year old, id say go for it, just keep in mind it may not have the strength in it to withstand HUGE jumps and abuse. If it lasts him 12 months its going to be the best $400 you have spent.. Its better to have him outside and learning than wide jawed infront of a TV playing Plaistation or the likes.. if its just something to chook chase on then i rekon you will have no worries at all...
Have a look at this topic in regards to things that go wrong/to do after inital purchase etc. Will make his riding experiance a bit safer and you will know for sure things are how they are meant to be..

Thanks, will take on board your comments, hopefully it will last 12 months as my son has been on the front end loader designing his own track all day & I reckon I might discuss the size of the jumps he is creating, and try to get him to tone it down slightly, really appreciate you informing about the setup will look into it.
Cheers.

No worries at all Brains!
Glad to have helped!
Where abouts are you located? we have members from all over the country and im sure if your lil tacker was aftera riding partner someone will be semi local..
Get onto him about the Jump sizes.. we must all crawl before we can walk!
Drill into him about the safty factor, helmet, gloves, padding, etc. and to only ride what he is capable of. Experiance is gained over time, not learnt over night ;)

i have a atomic pro x (agb29) runs well starts easy ( 11 year old could have probs with kick starting them as they have a bit of compression.) but just need sprockets sorted out. great for your son.

Yes but you have to take into consideration the size and style of the bike and not just the price! The agb29 is fairly large compared to the atomik 125, if he's only 11 then it may be too big.

hey mate great bike if u look after it i would recomend that u use locktight on all the bolts or buy high tensile bolts because the china bolts are shit as

You all have been great for the advice, as I know nothing about these bikes I will take all which has been said on board, I live in Kilkenny (Adelaide) & the farm's in Meadows. I will be taking my son to Pelican Point to start off with to run his bike inn & get to know his bike, so hopefully will be able to find some riding partners for him.
Once again to all members who have given me advice Cheers. We appreciate it.

Hey guys I notice you are making note of the bolts being poor, the bolts in question are they simply all the major ones like shocks, swing arm etc, and are you all meaning the head bolts & motor as well ??? where do I start & finish replacing bolts........

Good question Brians! As mine were already replaced i couldnt begin to tell you but am going to presume its major bolts(structual) swing arm, engine mounts, possibly fairings, id be inclined to change the bar clamp bolts to for piece of mind, maybe fitting a quality magnetic drain plug while your at it.. off memory i believe some people have had a few broken rear axels quality one is around the 15-25 dollar mark i think

If noone else replys in relation to the bolts to replace, PM-SikPJ, Franky,Hillz,Jazel,skintag9(just done rec rego on his). thats all i can think of atm.. sorry if i left others out! its to early in the morning for me lol.

Pm Geezus18 he was riding at pelican last weekend, had a ball from what i believe..
this thread SHOULD soon be full of SA riding spots!- http://www.miniriders.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=10181

Thanks, will look at changing all bolts which is has structural loading to begin with, also where would I purchase the better quality rear axle in Adelaide or is it all internet purchase

Far out brussle sprout, I might just as well get my welder out & go hammer & tong on the flippin thing. Can't wait to get my sons bike so I have got something to do again.
Cheers for letting me know what you have done sik-pj, will do the same straight away.

Hi Brains.Try Universal Fastners,or Blackwoods for all your bolts.

Ps ..If you already have 15mm axles dont worry about changing them until you damage the threads on em !!

i got an agb21....the gearbox broke....frame bent....fuel line needed replacing....rear shock unscrews while riding.... front forks are too soft...i wouldnt risk it..if youre buying it for ur 11 year old son i would buy something of better quality, if something breaks when hes goin flatout he culd come off or something
