Hi, I need some help please.....my son just purchased an atomik pro x 250 never run in just sat 3 years previous owner. Yesterday we thought we would take the battery out and have a look if salvageable or needing replacement then the issue started...how the heck do we get it out, bit by bit, surely there is an easier way. we had to undo the tube thing that attaches to air filter box to free things up, so very tight. it is like the box is too big, plus the air filter looks nothing like anything i have seen online or his nitrous 140 which is great little bike. Do these air filters require regular cleaning as it is so difficult to get out if the box... if the right size and we approached it correctly. can someone please help. i noticed others have had this bike mentioned on here in the past, but cant find the info I need.
Cheers

post a pic please... im pretty sure you can access them by taking the seat off

Welcome to miniriders mate, like zwebx said you should be able to access it from removing the seat, some of the air boxes have a plastic seperator between the air filter and battery and this can be removed to then try and wrestle the battery out, some i have worked on makes you wonder how the hell you can get it out, even if you remove the rear side guard it may give you some room to move? Other times the whole battery box had to be loosened or even completely undone to have it free from anything enough to get the room you need to remove the battery.

Thanks for both replies. We did take the seat off, cheers, seemed ok and then :( you are right wrestle is an understatement, there was no way it was coming out, the frame was sitting directly on top. we then undid the screws to hold the box, still no go as the pipe that connects to the air filter locked it all in, after more wrestling we undid that, didn't seem like we should, but there was no other obvious option. now we have both out, charging the battery with little hope, but honestly have no idea what to do with the air filter, it is foam near the outside bit , then a fabric type for the rest. should we lube the foam? It seems like the box is too big, too high...it is all original and unused. It will be a night mare if the filter needs regular attention. the battery can be charged in the bike if ever need be (we will probably have to replace). in the manual of the latter model it doesn't mention any air filter maintenance which seems weird, it even tells you how to wash the bike, but no air filter maintenance.

when you charge the battery, use a small motorcycle type charger, around 1Amp.
and don't charge it for much more than 3 hours, they will cook themselves quickly.

I would def lube the foam mate, do you have a photobucket account, it makes uplloading IMG full size pics easy and really helps out with answering questions, if it does charge id def take the battery to a battery store and have it load tested, if it had no power before you pulled it out and after 3 years it will be cactus(dead lol), Motobatt makes a great battery, that exceeds the CCA and AH rating it is marked with(4AH MotBatt actually equal to a yuasa 7AH), highly recommended and at basically the same price as a std battery you cant go wrong.

Thanks guys. I have the battery on my car charger but at 6 not 12 and on slow charge, thought i would let it go overnight....what do you think??? I will check out recommended battery for sure..this one still had liquid in the cells, but i know very little here. I will ring atomik after work tomorrow and see what they say about the filter, I will also try to upload a pic with or without info as seriously I cannot even find an image of it online. I agree it seems to me lubing the foam part would be correct but not mentioned in the manual. The bike started manually after only 3 kicks and sitting all that time never started, so there are many positives, just want to look after it properly to get the best out of it.

why put the charger on 6 volt, doesn't the bike have a 12v battery?

That one is the next model. His has 30 on it and is black red and grey.

i finally got to speak with Atomik as they are moving and been difficult to catchup with. If anyone else needs the info, lube the foam as we thought and it only needs attention at service time. so all good. bought a new battery, just need sunshine now.
Thanks to those who helped.
