like the crankcase vent hose does ...

isnt really needed...
 
it reduces the pressure inside the engine, you have one built into your crankcase, you can also get them for your head, with special valve cover with a breather hose coming out of them to attach a pipe.

not sure how much difference it really makes, I wouldnt bother personally.
 
Certain engines, like Honda 50's, have a pretty small stock breather nipple. Going from 2.5HP and 49cc to several times that can give you excess internal pressure. Piston ring blowby (multiple reasons TBD soon;)) is the biggest culprit. Extended revs, like road racing, can require more open area to release the excess pressure. Not letting it out adds resistance to the piston's down stroke, and pressure on seals and gaskets. Properly routed to a catch/recovery can, they can be an engine saver.
 
k there are a couple of kits on the market which one would be the best value for money and do they just fit any engine or do u have to get a kit to fit the engine
