Just pulled the side cover off my 120 monster gear box because it was making a clunking noise the last ride i took it on. I got a after market 5 plate cluth basket in it and it is missing 2 teeth off the gear. Just wanting to know if it is a common thing with the clutches because the clutch would be lucky to have 8hrs on it.

It's probably a Jialing/GPX clutch ...... and they're known to grenade like that ...... check for fragments of rubber in the oil and slinger .........

Another factor could be that the 5 plate clutch being grippier transmitted too much shock to the outer gear for it to handle ......

When a clutch slips it also absorbs the impact of abuse better .......

I found no rubber in the bottom of the gear box only some teeth off the gear and metal shavings. I've got to flush out the motor out yet before i put another clutch in. Thinking about putting my old 4 plate clutch back in if the clutch packings swap over from the 5 plate.
