Hi guys, just got myself a hi comp piston for my 150 Daytona. The engine hasn’t seen much use, maybe 7 or 8 hr max of light use. This is my first time changing a piston and I’m just wondering if I need to get the cylinder honed before the new piston goes in?

yea you have to hone it or the new rings won't seat in and the whole upgrade would be useless....

i go 20hrs when i change the piston and that is when it been raced in motard. so harsh hours.

make sure you are running your daytona ignition on stage 1 as the high comp give the engine 14:1 compression and 25 degrees advance timing is all id go with a hi-comp at 14:1.

hmm 14:1 is too high for pump fuel...
id def be retarding the hell out of it and adding an extra base gasket..

and NAGER are you referring about a true daytona 150 or the copy lifan/yx..

thats what i though sean, im using race fuel. but all those pocket bike guys run 14-15:1 on 98 BP Ulitmate.

14:1 on a 150cc with 98 octane fuel is border line.

Anyway to find out if there the "newer" version trex?? seems weird there like $200 cheaper then any U.S retailer..
