Do pitbike parts (for example, gaskets, brake pads, clutch discs etc) contain asbestos?

Do the gaskets particularly contain asbestos? Some sites say that the green coloured gaaskets are asbestos free? What about the gray ones?

As a builder l deal with asbestos regularly, why the concern ..(if gaskets do contain asbestos ) unless you tear them up and inhale the dust they will not effect your health..

Australian importer's have to prove their part's have no asbesto's in them, especially disc pad's.
Other than that the only other gasket i could picture with asbesto's would be exhaust/head gasket's.

By regulations asbestos containing products should be banned in USA, EU, Australia etc.

But some fleabay sellers (from china) claim proudly, that their gaskets (and other products) contain asbestos.

Besides the health risks Asbestos is a remarkable product. Brakes ,clutches heat shield do not wear out like new age synthetic products .. Great material in damp and moisture environments .Heat /flame management.The Indians are still manufacturing their corrugated roof sheeting from asbestos thanks to a Canadian funded company. l d say 3rd world counties would be making Asbestos lined parts for there motor cycles and 3 wheeler toot toots.. Ten years from will be talking about health risk associated with MDF timber ,particle board and Kevlar, titanium ,magnesium ,CNC bling . So try not to inhale what ever medium were working with.

Is there any info about the gaskets? Is there any way to distinct non-asbestos (for example colour) gaskets from asbestos ones (is asbestos even used for pitbike gaskets nowadays)?

I'd be interested to know where they are mining the asbestos to then use it in manufacturing ???

And no, Kevlar, titanium and magnesium will never become a health risk !!

They mine asbestos IN China (it is the worlds top asbestos consumer) and Russia for sure.

Those green gaskets should be asbestos free. Those grey ones MAY contain asbestos. Selling asbestos containing products is forbidden in fleabay and similar sites by the way.
