Picked up a very good condition CRF50 bottom end for a steal at $75 ... un-realistic $50 low ball worked out :)

Now the dreaming begins... So many options out there what would you drop in it ? Budget including clutch, carbi and trans $3500-$4000

Originally I was toying with the Idea of a Daytona DOHC 88 with a taki special clutch setup and taki 3sp close ratio..

Now ive been looking around at Taki DOHC SCUT 106's ...

anywhere in the 10-15hp range is where I'd like it to be as it'll be a dirt/bush bike motor, Would love to keep it auto clutch.. horstram still around ? would that hold upto the power of 15hp ish ?

Horstman is around. They don't advertise the bike clutch, but they're about $475 in the US. I have a couple. They work well, so much so that we had to re-gear because straight speeds were up to valve float on a 115+R and cracked a Ti retainer.

Tak 3rd is pretty short for an outdoor bike. We just run the 1st, or the $50 cheaper Kitaco setup since 1st and kick is all it comes with.

Looked at the 100cc kits, for a revver? Same S-cut 57mm top, but a sweet 39mm Tak crank, so you don't scatter a stocker.

DOHC adds a lot of cost over the SOHC, without much more than style points. Our 138cc SOHC runs with the DOHC Daytona 150/160 even with a little heavier rider.

$4500 gets a +R 2v 123cc Tak crate engine, with clutch, 5-speed, outer rotor. $200 more for 148cc, another $300 for 158... 4V stuff is more.

Endless possibilities... lol

Yes the crate engines are very tempting and the SOHC +R heads are very impressive beasts.. Might have to get realistic and only do a basic build on the motor and get a crate motor with the newer cases with the gear driven oil pumps
 
The dream is more of bling that speed TBH :) I want a sexy porn motor

I was looking in my Monkey mags last night they did a head to head Dyna 88 vs DOHC 88 and I'm leaning towards the daytona DOHC 88 still, even tho its not that much different to the Dyna Head which is on par or just bellow my Superhead most likely..

How about, drop in a long-rod stroker, offset-bore the cases, shorten a Daytona 150 jug, and top with:

Well late night purchase has been done.. Ive ordered the clutch and thermostat for now i ended up going with a stock main shaft clutch as the planned use of the bike doesnt need the close ratio 3sp trans.

Top end next month hopefully..
 
How much extra do you pay for the pretty box ;)

Its how takegawa do things box in box in box....

parts in plastic bags then bubble wraped, 2 tones of paper the a yellow box packed in another bigger box (kit) with more paper.. its like Christmas so many layers
 
Went to sort a High volume oil pump as i forgot to order one with the clutch.. and I stumbled onto a Super oil pump kit for the ( Special clutch / For dry Clutch ) setups.. Never knew it existed. Did a bit of research and looking around some more before committing to the purchase as its ¥7800 vs ¥4600 for the usual
