How can I get this lever to fit?

have you tried undoing the lever adjustment screw at the front left of the bracket where it bolts onto?

looking at you picture of the standard lever,
at the bottom right hand corner ,you can see a thread pushing against the lever.
the screws' head is to the right a bit more

Woops forgot about that other thread :S, also i have taken the adjustment screw completely out and tried.

take the original lever off the bike, sit it alongside the new one and takes some pics

what is actually the problem with it not fitting ?

I got it to fit on the bracket by hack sawing part of it off, but it does not move freely as the lever rubs with this part of the bracket when moved View attachment bracket.bmp i might try filing it down tomorrow, it should work after that.
