GPX Kickstart mod to solve kickback

proper kick starting is only winning half of the battle..
to be more safer the ignition needs to be retarded. and if setup properly it should never kick back again unless the engine is hot or some other problem is evident...

Thats why I love two stroke, the chance of them kicking back is next to zero

2 strokes kick back just as much, and the bigger the engine the bigger the kick back...
seen broken ankles from kick back on yz490's and cr250's

Good advice hear guys, shame I hadn't read about it before this morning when my yx140 kicked back and the end of the shaft sheared off, GUTTED!!! Never had the problem on my lifan 150 but the yx can be evil. Has anyone on here replaced the kickstart shaft on a yx140? Do I have to split the cases do you know?

yes case split , pretty easy job really just take lots of pics when disassemble

Was hoping it was just the outer case off so I didn't have to take the head and barrel off, nevermind. Just annoyed with myself, first outing for my monkey this year and this happens
