how to make a 2 stroke quieter?

hey guys

ive got a 1999 rm 80, and it is really loud, ive had noise complaint before, and im on the verge of not being able to ride at home (and that sux ) and i live in a residential area.

it is not at all loud from the exhaust, but its mechanical noise, it is the usual 2 stroke noise ( ring ding ding) and its from where the pipe comes out of the head, we've put a spring where there is meant to be a spring and that has quietened it down a little, but not much. i cant go to the track all the time and im usually busting to ride, so can u guys help me, any help will be appreciated.

Not much you can do but you could try repacking the muffler.

don't know about suzukis, but kawas and hondas have O-rings on the pipe where it connects to the cylinder, are these intakt? or are you missing some other gaskets?

Yeh me old rm125 had one. Ill check to see if the RM50 has one tomorrow.

put some water in your fuel tank, that will make it quiet for a while

Hmmmm some how I don't think thats going to solve the problem.

we have bought a new longer pipe, but its mechanical noise, ill check my bike soon, im going away for a coupla days so i can go on here but not check my bike, thnx for the advise, any moe will be welcomed with open arms
