hey all
picked up a complete yx160 today in immac condition but the stator has been removed by previous owner

my problem is what i should run

this motor is purely going to be used for motard

ive used a yx160 with irk and loved the snappyness but want people advice and ideas on whats best

also were to buy a complete kit including all screws and crank nut

thanks in advance :)

Defiantly get a outer rotor kit mate. So much better and less likely to do damage to your motor.
Inner rotor kit= waste of money

hahahaha
ok no worries thats sorted

now does any one have or know were i can get the crank shaft nut to secure the magneto as ive lost it on the way home lol

the standard YX outer rotor setup is ok,
it's lighter than the Lifan outer rotor so will rev a touch quicker.

if you want to be able to tune the power a bit more (adjust the timing).
then you could get an Adjustable Lifan 150 Outer Rotor Kit
as far as i know, it just needs 3mm or so taken off the stator plate mounting face on the backing plate, so the flywheel doesn't rub on it.
Firepower Minis sells them, and can do the YX fitment mod for an extra $10 iirc

the 2x screws that hold the stator plate into the casing are M6 x 1mm pitch thread and are 15-17mm long
any Fasteners shop will have something close,
buy some High Tensile ones with Tapered Socket Heads so you can undo them with an allen key
a Fastener shop should have the flywheel retainer nut too, or could get them in if they don't stock them.
it's a M10 x 1.25 pitch Flanged H/T nut

OORacing sell the nuts and ignition set ups too
here is a nut- http://www.ooracing.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=1727

yeah the backing plate on the right needs 3mm to be machined off the face where the stator plate bolts on

aswell as the nut is there a washer or such that backs up the nut?

no washer, it is built into the flanged nut
watch out for the nut head size too, needs to be 14mm, otherwise you'll need to grind down a socket to fit inside the flywheel

also a serrated base on the nut will help it from coming loose
a flat based one will work, but needs a drop or 2 of loctite in the threads

ok now i just gotta find someone in aus selling correct kit or find someone to machine it down for (great at building bikes but suck at doin the nitty gritty **** lol)

just find a fabricating shop, or anyone with a Metal Lathe
it would take 15 mins to set it up and machine

this stator/flywheel is a direct fit for a YX160, standard set up, (heavy flywheel)

Non Adjustable Outer Rotor kit for Z155/YX160, but requires a matching cdi and loom

this is an Outer Rotor kit that will bolt straight onto your YX160 no mods needed
it has the lightest flywheel available without going to an Inner Rotor kit.
