Powercoating help/info?

Hey guys just wondering were you get frames powercoated? and how much it usually costs if a shop does it?

I wanna get my frame and swinga done on my stocker..

Oh yeah I live on the mid north coast of NSW so maybe theres somebody local that could help me out haha :action-smiley-033:

try the yellow pages and ring around asking for prices


most powder coaters will want the frame sandblasted first, so the powdercoat will stick properly.
some powdercoaters have their own blasting equipment too.

sandblasting normally cost around $30 for a frame depending on how intricate etc they are.
powdercoating is around $40-$60, again depending on colours and the frame shape.

ask the powdercoater to mask the headset bearings mounting faces to make reassembly easier.
also run a tap through any bolt threads to clean them out, before you reassemble the bike.
