you tell us? have you ridden it yet?
allot of rake should make it have a really wide turning circle, you can raise the forks in the clamps a little bit or get a bigger rear shock
can you post a pic?

pics pics pics maybe you frame is bent if you say its raked like a chop chop

Yeah pics would help.

What do you mean by 'rake'?

A ''rake'' is a gardening tool that can be used for various things such as gathering leaves from on the grass. Another ''rake'' that is more commonly seen in my life is the rake used by croupiers on the craps tables at the casino :p

Seriously though bd93 Rake basically means when the forks are on more of an angle than they should be. The usual cause of this is a bend in the frame which will only get worse with each ride until it finally gives up and snaps. The bend is usually caused by a mix of shit suspension, jumps and flat landing.

hey guys i jsut a bought a 2nd hand pitpro 140 and the forks have a lot of rake on them like a chopper.
is this bad?

oh dear... you didnt buy that pitpro off ebay that looked like someone had taken a gasaxe to the headstem and made a minichopper out of what was a dirt bike??

pics mate pics, if it's the one i'm thinking of, new frame required...

I posted the link is this the one you were thinking of?

cut a pizza shaped wedge just behind the neck and get a big hammer and hit it back to your desired "rake" and weld it up,

Wouldn't that weaken the frame heaps even though you've weilded it back up?

I say get a new frame...$500:eek: you got ripped..

Yes mate, sadly that's the one i was thinking of....
I'd be looking on ebay for a replacement frame pretty rapidly... you should be able to locate one pretty easily, and transfer everything from yours onto the new frame..
It's a CRF style frame, so you should be able to source one pretty easily. :D
That one is pretty hammered... had a good giggle when i saw it last week... sorry mate, but that one will fold on you in a heart beat... DO NOT jump it until the frame is replaced, you will end up with a bike stuck in your left nostril...

lol, is it even a genuine pitpro, going by the tyres and frame style id say not.

i would be replacing it with a cradle frame..

500 for that! ripped off hard, I see $200 worth of bike there,
there a frame in the classified section going cheap

it shouldn't weaken it in that spot, it should make it stronger, I have had motos crack and re welded and they haven't cracked in the same spot (they did on the other side though.) lol

Definitely need a new frame. If that doesnt snap soon then the motor will be dragging along the ground!
Do yourself a favour and start stripping it now while you wait for your new frame to arrive. If you havnt purchased one yet then start looking both on here and on ebay for a crf style cradle mount frame.

It will indeed be weakened, the heat caused from welding drops the tensile strength in the surrounding area of the weld. A butt welded staight weld is prone to recracking unless a properly shaped fishplate is put over the repair. I would definately steer clear from a repair if possible!

I was thinking on my pocket bike,

On my old PW50 I snapped the frame (at the neck) and got it welded up, broke 2 more times after that.. forgot all about it.

sucks to be the owner now :p

the guy that i bought it of reckons he didnt do anything to it and that was the standard frame. but no pitpro came out like that aye.

no dirt bike ever came out like that lol, that's not a pitpro frame either, I think you have a mix of parts from all over the place on that bike, why the hell did you buy it?
