Hey guys i really wont to get a rev limiter so i can be cool and do a wip and put it on the limiter lol.. Nah is there anywhat you can get them?

I can do a whipp mate. If they are a wast of time why did heaps of people run them at the mini sx? I still wont 1 soo if anyone no's how to get them please tell me
 
you don´t need it...your DHZ engine doesen´t got to the point its Head and its cam are too limited...don´t worry ..whip ahead and post up a pic please ...I like to see that:p ;)
 
ok mate but i still wont 1 lol it sounds cool. What does a limiter do on a bike? I no it cuts out 1 cylender in a car but what abut a bike? havent got a pic of a whip but only a doubble can a lil 1 anyway

I no it cuts out 1 cylender in a car but what abut a bike
but they are WRONG.. think about it.. how can stopping a piston firing change the REVS(being REVOLUTIONS?!?) you can get RESTRICTORS that change the throttle poition sensor, ie you can de-tune the engine(good if you have a 700hp v8 and are willing to let your 19 year old son/daughter go down the street for a mars bar...but as for stopping a cylinder from firing.. monster bucks. big technology...



300c's have a engine management system that cuts them back to a 4cyl on highway cruising, but when needed can fire up the other 4 cyls within mili seconds.. (think this may work with oneway bearings and electromagnets but havent looked to deep into it..)

Think you may be more interested in either a new CDI REV box( to un-restrict your revs) or you are after a throttle adjustment to limit how open your throttle is... no more WOT.

:p :p ...first of all the pic is not a whip , second I am shocked that a MODERATOR here has so less knowledge about pitbike engines and third ...you ever heard about Valvefloat or coilbinding??;)

im more impressed with the double can then i would be with a wip!

i also like the sound of a bike/car sitting on the limiter

and sory to get off topic but did you make that ramp? how big is it? and do you have plans??

rev limiters limit the revs in which your bike does. my dads 650 bombardier has one an when you hit 3500 rpm it doesnt rev anymore and makes like a sound like baap baap baap baap. it pretty much cuts the engine from going anymore than what the set revs are. its the cdi that controls all this. you will have to get a cdi in which you can adjust the engines revving limit.
 
Yeh mate i made the ramp. Umm i made it in metal work last year i think it sits about 1.50 - 1.80 m ummm dont have the plans but could mesure it out for ya.

well my mate got a new engine, (2nd hand) off a mate, goes hard a shit.. good old cini and its just got a IRK and no shit he'll hit a double pull a whip and give her abit and its like it hits limiter.. sounds like it anyway :)

a limiter would be sweet fun (already been discussed) :D but it would have to be easily removable case as gay as it might sound id always be on it, it would piss me off hahah yes i like to rev my bike where all the power is :D at the top!

Not gay. I know what you mean. That da-da-da-da kinda sound. Funny you want that. But why not since a new engine cost about $350 complete.

Hey if you've not seen it already, watch the AMA Lites MX race (250Fs) from Steel City 2007. After the final race Villopoto pins his throttle open for about 1.5 secs on the podium. His PC KX250F sounded so sweet I wanted to make a ring tone out of it. Just sounded unreal. :)

No way. REAL whips are far far cooler than bar tricks! On big bikes and minis. Bar trick specialists are elasto boys in my books. Real flat whips and even turn downs are via the boys who can really control their bike in the air. I much prefer to watch and attempt bike control, than body control.

This is why I love watching Maddo do real big air freestyle. And Twitch comes to mind too. They are so dynamic and less clinical. Maddo has such a good feel for the rotation of the wheels and lean of the chassis. Our course there is also Renner and many others who posses awesome BIKE control. On the other hand, I always "fast forward" the bar trick specialists.

But back to minis ... flat whips are cool as hell on a mini because there is less gyro effect help from the wheels to help the rider dial into and out of the whip. So a flat whip pic posting please ...

i would think your bike would rev alot higher then 1300 rpm I THINK may be wrong but
 
I can get a coil that has a limiter at 1300 rpm but would my bike do that much?

I am sure your mini would get to 1300. :) My 450 idles at 1920rpm when fully warmed up.

If you meant 13000 (which I guess you did because I was just taking the piss above) then I don't know but doubt it.

Some interesting RPM trivia: My 450 is CDI limited to 11500 or there abouts. I have a peak RPM meter on the bike (part of my engine timer) and I found that if I accidentally engage a lower gear on braking or in the air before landing, then it can easily hit 13250 RPM. A little surprising how easy the thing can spin up! :eek:
