Does the kx80 owner have all the receipt's for the engine work, how many hour's has it done since the big bore kit?
Is the bike well maintained?
clean oil, everything greased, bush's good, gearbox good, tyre's, brakes etc etc ?
Power band would be very close on your DT200, the DT should easily beat that KX

Basically no i wouldn't be swapping, but i like my big bike

Says its done around 8 hours. Was baught for his now 11yo son so as youd expect a 9yo was scared ****less of the power, kid apparently also has a quad and 3 pitster pro's. Asked him to bring any recipts, was done about 2 years ago so may not be able to find them
Tyres are as good as new, will check all the gears when i test it out. Im torn in half with this decision.
All my bike needs is a new tyre and she'll be sweet, but the kx will fit in the van.

There is always that "RISK" when buying second hand bikes with no receipts, everyone here could tell you a different story on what to do but in the end its you're decision.

If i was in you're situation I'd keep the DT.

It seemed like a good idea to start with, for whatever reason.
But the more i think about it the more worried i get, i have a recipt for the top end work i had done, and i know it rides well. Im just hooked on that new bike feeling. which is a very very bad thing.

Way back in 92 I owned a yz80 & a dt200
I preferred the 80 , it was a lot more aggressive than the 200
But it really depends on what and where you ride
If your a trail blazer keep the 200

I wont lie georgalis, i had anxiety leading up to this afternoon. I was worried that the 80 would feel underpowered in comparison to the 200 but god damn!! The kx 80 is an absolute monster of a machine. Powerband rips hard, not a toy for sealed roads ha ha!
Needs new fork seals but its a small price to pay and they should last considering the front wheel will never be touching the ground anyway....

The dt was closer to 4 stroke power but the kx80 pops the wheel up in almost every gear

So the guy i swapped bikes with contacted me today. Apparently due to having no battery connected the powervalve wasnt working. Ahh well its gone to a better placeuploadfromtaptalk1433479806181.png
Look at all the work he's done. uploadfromtaptalk1433479861494.png
I can build houses all day anyday, but when it comes to mechanics im a spaz!
