So got around too bobbing the rear loop today. Wanting to do most the work on this project myself I bought a gassles mig from bunnings and after a few test runs on some scap I managed to get something that resembled a weld haha. Luckily it all will be covered by the seat. I mocked up the z50j seat pan and am pretty happy with the overall shape of the tank and seat.

Webbike also came through with some goodies. Taky throttle, levers, electrics, gear shifter and kickstart all arrived today.

Finally made some progress. Spent yesterday cutting and grinding any mounts that are not needed trying to get the bike looking as clean and simple as I can cafe style. Also relocated the ignition switch to behind the tank should clean up the wiring as I am planning on hiding alot under the tank.

Also made a seat from a old skate board I had lying around now I just need to cover it. Will probably strip the tank and do a bare metal respray today.

Frame swingarm ect are off to powder coaters this week. And am waiting on ape wiring harness, forks and wheels (thanks fvej)

Got the gear back from the powder coaters friday. Came up real nice and at a good price too ended up going a flat black.

Of to coventries monday to get new bolts nuts & washers to start putting it all back together. Once everything is hear from japan the fun should start

Still need to paint the tank and cover the seat but its all coming along slowly. Can anyone help with gear ratios? I will be running 12inch wheels and the 108 kit

Just joking, starting too look the goods. Will be good to see the finished project :)

So made a bit of progress with the help of my brother.

Decided to go with the original tank to keep a bit of the classic look. Sorted the tyres and bolted up the kicker gear shifter and controls.

Just mocked up a straight through pipe from a pit bike as well. Still unsure of the seat though
