Smoking ignition/battery wire electric start

Smoking ignition/battery wire electric start Kinlon 200Sm

noticed it the other day,smoked while starting.
While tank was off a saw a green wire from ignition coil was melted and exposed wire..i taped/insulated it up.started again and it smoked from negative battery terminal from a green wire..Is this cause i over crank with a pause on cold starts when its being a bitch?

it can be from several things
overly long cranking can over heat the wires
another cause can be a power wire is touching an earth
if a wire has melted don't just re insulate it replace the whole wire that way you are guaranteed no fault and correct insulation

bad earth can have a very similar effect... but glad you found the problem
