Sounds like metal crunching when kicking over

My mate was riding his pitty and it was fine, then it stalled and he tried to start it. Everytime he kicked it over it would make a really bad metal on metal crunching noise. Any ideas what could be wrong with it?

Kickstart gears sound rooted , Gotta make sure you don't just kick the shit out of it. gotta put it in top dead centre every time you kick it over so you don't go crunching gears. You will need to split the bottom end to repair this or replace the motor.

did it initially make the sound the first kick or did it start doing it a few kicks in , chances are he can't start it correctly and has damaged the kickstart gears. Drain your oil out , if you notice an increase in metal spec's then you have done some damage.

You can't roll start it, it's one of the models when pitty's first came out so it has tiny wheels and just wont roll start. How much do you think were looking at and could a mechanic at a shop get it fixed within the day does it take long to fix?

motors dont cost all that much
