Hi there - some of you might know I am fixing up an old Orion / Ducar 125.

I know it's not the greatest bike - but it's a fun project for me and my son.

We stripped it down to nuts and bolts, wire brushed, washed, & re-greased everything.

One of the things we noticed where the bearings (needle? Roller? bearings) in the swing arm were totally stuffed - seized up and rusted.

I pulled them out - soaked them in kero & then oil, lubed up with plenty of grease and re-inserted them.
I did feel kinda dirty doing it though.

We're not going to race it, just ride it around on tracks and such. So I might just keep the grease up to it.
If I ever decide to change them for something nicer..

Where could I get new roller bearing kits for these?

Cheers

Did you remember to take measurements while torn apart? Likely local/online bearing outlet will have better replacements. Lacked seals, I'd bet? Keep the power washer away from that area;)

err.. No

Well - I have learned (AGAIN).

Take measurements when it's apart. :)

I'll do it next time I tear the swing arm off - no doubt when I replace the brake pedal. It's quite bent.

Servicable - but bent.

Swing arm bearing seals?

What I saw had only 3 different types of parts.

1) a big long bolt.

2) a "bushing" - a sleeve with collar metal thing.

The sleeve fits into the bearing, and the bolt goes through the sleeve. (4)

3) the bearings. (4) These press fit into the swing arm itself.

Something like this (stolen from the net)

Righto. Can anyone recommend a bearings shop on the northside of Brisbane?
or Online?
