Thoughts on grey rtv?

There's so many contradictions online. Has anyone had luck using permatex ultra grey on a two stroke crankcase? Normally I make the gaskets or use Yamaha rtv but being short on cash I already have some and have heard both sides too much I just wanna know has it worked?

Yeah go for it, just make sure you wipe over anywhere you are using it with thinner's acetone or whatever's handy so it give's it something nice to hold onto
