ok mate thanks for all the help your a legend
ill see how it goes tomorrow.

:: Update ::

Hello again guys.
i have been working abit more on the engine the past couple days
and suprise suprise it still wont start.

ok so here is whats going on.
took my air filter off and put my hand over the carby ( where the air filter sits )
and i felt it suck in air and also squirt some petrol out, what the heck is that about?
checked the spark and i got nothing.. didnt see not one spark.

so im guessing i need a new lead or new coil..
but the carby is really strange, anyone know whats going on there?

Thanks again fellas!

ur timing maybe out if its spittin fuel out the inlet of the carby....its letting some fuel through but the intake valve shuts early and the fuel gets cut off from entering the cylinder and goes back up the manifold.

Ok thanks Dabomb
ill really hard to adjust this timing chain, but i will aventuly get there.
any idea why im not getting any spark?

or just the manifold vaccum is pulling fuel up the jet on the intake stroke...and all your hand is doing is being a "choke"...and becoming highly flammable:) got a light?
basically...with a fourstroke...at CRANK tdc, you want both valves shut, turn it 180 approx, exhaust starts opening. after a full turn, back at crank tdc, both valves will be slightly open, or "on the rock" exhaust closing, inlet opening.
turn crank another 180, and inlet is closing. then back to tdc is compression stroke. and there you are. two CRANKshaft revolutions, one CAMshaft revolution.

Ok thanks Dabomb

Are you earthing the plug when checking spark?

The spark plug must be placed a something metal, otherwise the circuit cannot be conpleted.

Yes NRG i held it on the exhaust pipe and got my mate to kick it.. but not even a small spark came out..

You said that you replaced the piston..........so you proberly had to undo some wiring here & there.....yeah?

Go back and check all the wiring and make sure its all connected correctly especially the earth wires.

If you unplugged the wires from the stator, there could be a good chance that you didnt put them back in the right place or they have a bad/loose connection.

Wiring from the stator to the wiring harness are usually the same colour.

Did you drop the plug at any stage? maybe replace it.

Ok i will go over the wiering tomorrow.
when i replaced the piston i did disconnect the starter motor wire, ill give that another look to make sure i put it on correct.
i put in a brand new spark plug which didnt help at all.

Thanks for all the help

look..........its really important to fix one iusse at a time, otheriwse it becomes one MAssive mess!

Are you confident the timing is right? i know it doesnt affect spark, but you should have only moved on when that was fixed for sure.

I would hate for it to start and do some real damage.

yeah your right mate.
i know for a fact that the timing chain still needs adjusting because when i kick it the carby sucks air in and also blows out abit of petrol.

when i solve that problem ill work on the spark.

at the moment im trying to get a repair manual from atomik, so i can just use that as a guide to make sure im doing everything correct.

hey where is the timing chain, because thats what we think is wrong with our bike?

It' run's from the head of the motor back
can see it if you take your side head cam cover off..

Whats wrong with it?

won't even start, we toad it behind our car and got it to start but when we stopped it turned of straight away, its not the sparkplug because with replaced that twice so we're just trying everything else
