hey fellas, after scoring this cheap motovert pro and going for a few little rides ive decided im happy with it as it is, accept for the carby and cdi crap

its the motovert 150 daytona rip off, it has abit of a flat spot and somtimes it just loose spark at low revs and needs a tap on the clutch to get it going on song again!

i dont know anything bout these little chinas but was thinking about changing the carby and ignition system for maybe something better quality, hopefully will get some power gains too

anyone know what size and brand of carby would b on this atm? its completelty standard

any one know where i should look and what brands to look for

um good carby setup for it would be an oko 26mm flatslide...

ignition system. dosent the daytona have a digitql timing in it?

its the older 07 with the daytona 150 copy, has a makuni carby so ill just get a kit and put it threw, its a cdi ignition but has has its issues and just looks cheap to ones i have been looking at online, so im just going to do the ignition and put a hydrolic clutch on it and see how it feels after that, so any ideas on a good quialty ignition?

I think pitbikekid's right, daytona's come with with an ORK type ignition with digital timing so I don't think you can put just any cdi on it.

what do you mean by daytona copy? daychina or yx/gpx150?

if its a yx150 daytona i dont think they come with an ork...could be wrong tho...

i guess it will have to be checked before purchasing...current issue could just be a bad earth or bad wiring.

but you should get yourself a oko 26mm or even a 28mm and a ork kit. while yr at it put a quality plug in it

ive never seen a daychina engine on a motover, i thought they all ame out with genuines.

check all your wireing and make sure you havnt got any burnt or damaged wires.

welli decided to get off my butt and get some pics, because i had a yx140 and it looks nothing like it
here they are

there all daychina's, its just the daytona's are built in china but to japan specs...higher quality control..

Yer i dont think the lifan/yx 150 engines where out then , so probably be a replacement.

wires are all good, all terminals are clean and tight too, ive pulled the bike apart and greased and lock tighted everything up just to go over it, new standard ngk plug

sweet as, so what brand/type pf ignition should i go? any other good little upgrades i should do why im at it?

ok, back to the original problem...
looking at your picture it has some sort of round intake carb...do you know what it is, because im gona take a guess and say the problem you think is spark is actually carb tune related...bog spot or dead spot...due to bad mixture settings or just purely bad tune...

Daychina is a genuine Daytona built in china, all the daytona motoverts run em.

I'm pretty sure lifan 150's have a daytona copy ORK ignition, which you also can't just throw any cdi on, it's a very good ignition from what I've heard so you should just leave it on

so loeave the ignition and do the carb? its makuni (spelling?) carb, couldnt find where it says what size just by looking

it wont say, if its stock to the bike, it would most likely be either a 26mm or 28mm
