no, the thread they are talking about is the one the puller screws into.. its a female thread should be around 30mm at a guess

pretty sure its 27mm left hand thread. Its the same size as 70's/80's yamaha 2 strokes i have owned. That part missing on your motor is a neutral light switch(for bike that have a neutral light), wont affect your running, its not the pick up as someone suggested, thats about 10cm below the neutral switch
