yamaha yz125

hey guys...
i now this is a mini site and all just thought id askk..
hows the best way on going about how to find out a yr models? i got a yz125 but not sure or yr.. bloke reckons 2001?? is it stamped anywhere etc..

any help much app..

nope best way is to call a yamah dealer with the engine & frame number..

But post a pic, i had a 2001 YZ125 & know what they look like

10th number down on the vin number which is on the headstem of the frame is the year... will be a single digit.. ie.. 1 will be 2001, 5 will be 2005

the numbering system started from 2000 or 2001, and not sure what happened when it got to 2010

before the numbering system they used letters..

why do you think YZ's were called K's or J's or N's and so on... same goes for other makes of bikes..

if you still doubt me try an online vin decoder and punch as many different ones as you can.. i used the 10 digit trick for ktm and Yamaha in the past Free VIN Decoder - Vehicle Identification Number Report

yea i knew about the 10th digit after 2000 but prior to that i was wondering how you told the year,the Ks Js and Ns etc were the model run but only gave you a rough time frame say 90-94 for the model
