hey guys and girls

my dad got a call from 50s hq today about my bike getting the high comp piston and the irk put in

and it was really not good news

and they cant even find a gasket in austraila for the engine

this is shit
i got told that what i bought will go into the bike no probs if just bore the barrel thing out and put it in
but no now the engines fucked they cant do anything more

so i just thought id share this story of how i recked my engine :(

sounds like a load off shit!... give the engine a go, and if what they claims happens then you will have to buy another engine, nothing realy you should worry about...

can try cnc parts!

yeh ill just have to wait an see but either way im down alot of money and even more if the engine blows.
the guy is trying to make a gasket so im guessing thats gunna add on a heap more to the price

Yea
Make gasket out of copper, get decompression plate made from alley.might have to do a few sum's[how thick plate has to be] to work out what compession you desire.
STICK
p.s how much did they charge ya

That all sounds very strange. They should be able to easily sort this if they have the slightest clue what they're doing.

Also what the heck is an Australian approved piston?

sounds like the bulshit flows freely down at the 50 head1/4's. I wouldn't let them fix a flat tyre after that crock.

mmmmmmm...wouldnt you just get a new cylinder? say a lifan 138 with piston, rings, gaskets etc from dhz? that would be smart....

id like to see you loose 2nd and 3rd gear....

There are multiple easy fixes for your problem. If they are in the business of building motors this should be a no brainer. What size piston has been fitted to what motor?

hey guys and girls

my dad got a call from 50s hq today about my bike getting the high comp piston and the irk put in

and it was really not good news

he said that hes already bored it out to fit the piston and installed the irk and then realised it has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much compression for the engine and if i kick start it
the engine will blow
and if i run it to hard im gunna lose 2nd and 3rd gear
yeh sik engine now
i cant do anything with it. i really have no choice but to run the engine till its gone then buy a new engine :(

and to make it worse

the piston i bought isnt australian aproved
and they cant even find a gasket in austraila for the engine

Why not buy another top end ? It will only cost fark all?

PS what is an Australian Approved piston.....

With the chinese market the way it is they change sizes and specs every time they fart....Almsot nothing is standardized ....welll you know what I meen

That is sus. I wouldnt give up yet! There are a fair few different ways to Decomp a motor. And building a gasket does not require much skill at all!

I wouldnt worry too much. This has been suggested in a few previous posts and I find merit in it. In fact, I tend to think they dont even know what they're doing.

For one, what possible piston have you bought that will give way too much compression that the engines not gonna take it? Unless they've shaved the head way too much without telling (which will only aggravate the suspicion that they dont know what they're doing), compression should still be manageable with that aftermarket high comp piston.

By the looks of it, they've probably never seen such high comp piston you gave them that they're just outright impressed and they being the ones who are fitting it want to impress you more by scaring the shit out of you and claiming "whoa....this is gonna be a damn powerful engine you're gonna have here. It's gonna be like this and like that though....."

Not Oz approved?? What the......????

Either that, or you probably misinterpeted what they told you.

About losing gears, this is a probability that can come with higher output engines and is not to be surprised about although a few things can be done to avoid prematurely damaging them.

If I were you, sit tight till its done and enjoy it and see how it goes. Keep us posted.

LOL LOL LOL & LOL some more

my 50 has so much compression you have to kick it over like a 450! they must of done something else & just try'n to cover there ass.

But i would recomend getting your self some copper head gaskets made up at a high pressure water cut or lazer cut place that's what i do for my big bore pistons 56 & 58mm & i bet yours aint even that big yet.

they musent know much about engines or what the inside of one looks like.

ill just wait it out till they call again they might of figured out what the fuck is going on coz i sure dont.
but itll all work out in the end..
i dunno what the oz approved piston is i think dad got it rong its probly sumthing else
oh well shit happens
i dont really give a shit anymore
just wait and see what happens

Mate sounds like shit to me .
firstly why didnt you ask around and shop first ,theres a place in brendale that specialise in copper gaskets and can make what you like to suit your bike .
As for the compresion ratio you can easily get the piston top machined to bring down the compression may cost $25 at a machine shop
As for the IRK which one is it and what did they charge you ?
Also dont panic to much about the IRK blowing your engine ,I run one in a china 70 4 spd and i kill it all day ,your engine is a much better motor and will out last mine LOL.
Take it easy on the revs and let it warm up ,youll get use to it and have heeps of fun ........
Try terminator at wacol hes got bigger pistons for your bike and JOH at bundamba will bore your barrel for $42+gst.......If you need a hand let me know..........

i wld of shopped around but i thought 50shq specialized in 50s but the guy sed he cldnt find a proper 1 and that the parts i got for my bike were not even ment to fit my 138 lifan i didnt really get a choice i went in 1 day and asked sum guy there if they cld do it and he sed yeh sure just bring the parts in and should be sweet so i took it in and he looked at the piston and rotor kit and sed that it should be all good. but a sales person and a mechanic are way different i dont think he new much but ill just wait till it comes back finished and just do wateva

Im sorry to here that has happend ,So the IRK is in and they ve put the piston in am i right Is the bike going ? Let us know Ican put you onto the right people and you will learn something in the process of building your engine which isnt to hard im sure theres plenty of people on here who can guid you through an engine build its quit fun to do and theres great satisfaction in ridng a bike that has an engine built by yourself.........

juss got off the fone to them to check up on how its going and there still trying to make a copper gasket and they sed they cant find 1 to fit my bike so they had to make 1
its shit i just wanna ride it.
didnt think it would take so long and cost so much
it sucks

dude go pick up ya engine and leave, they are talkin SHIT! your gonna get charged fark loads, most mechanics work @ $65 an hour and if they have been workin on it for a while, your stuffed.
