well i did the choke mod to my stocker and im runnin a uni filter to not sure if it makes much of a difference but im sure a few more mods will defs make a noticible gain

the same thing happened to me and mine works perfectly now

an easy one all you have to do is put some wd 40 down the cable and keep pulling it and it will get easier ans easier to pull in if you can get a hold of some graphite powder use that because it lasts longer than wd 40
